Why memory matters?

Why memory matters?

Why memory matters?

Years ago, a close friend of Ally's suffered memory loss following a stroke. Her family discovered that a memory book they had created years earlier became an invaluable way of reconnecting her with people, places and experiences from her life.

The experience reinforced something Ally has always believed:

Memories matter.

Memory Boom was created to preserve not just names and dates, but personalities, voices, humour, wisdom and family stories that might otherwise be lost.

Don't wait

Why memory matters?

Don't wait

Many families plan to record a parent or grandparent someday.

But life gets busy.

Years pass.

Questions go unasked.

Stories disappear.

The best time to capture a lifetime of memories is now.

How to begin

Meet Ally Bunbury

Memory Boom is led by Ally Bunbury, a novelist, journalist and interviewer with a lifelong fascination for people and their stories.

For more than twenty years, Ally has worked alongside her husband, historian and broadcaster Turtle Bunbury, on projects dedicated to preserving personal histories and family stories.

She speaks with people from all walks of life and has a gift for putting people at ease, listening carefully and drawing out memories, humour and experiences.

Her interest in storytelling and memoir has been featured in The Irish Times and on RTÉ Radio 1's Drivetime .

The most valuable family heirloom may be a voice.
