Meet Ally Bunbury
Memory Boom was founded by novelist and interviewer Ally Bunbury, who believes that everyone has a story worth preserving.
Ally has spent much of her life listening to people and telling stories.
As a novelist, journalist and interviewer, and through more than twenty years working alongside her husband, historian and broadcaster Turtle Bunbury, she has spoken with people from all walks of life and helped preserve extraordinary personal and family histories.
But Memory Boom grew from a very simple thought:
We take thousands of photographs of the people we love. Why don’t we record their voices and stories too?
Ally’s interviews are warm, curious and conversational. There are no lists of questions to learn and no pressure to “perform”. Her role is simply to listen, to ask the right question at the right moment, and to create the space for memories to emerge naturally.
The result is not a formal interview.
It is the sound of someone being themselves.
That is what differentiates Memory Boom.
Ally's interest in storytelling and memoir has been featured in The Irish Times and on RTÉ Radio 1's Drivetime .
